Cirque du Trump

The NY trial is over, and Trump has been judged by a group of his so-called peers. Gotta believe the outcome would have been different if the trial were held someplace like Tenn, West Texas or Louisiana. I have no idea if Trump broke the law in this case. Because I don’t really care. The whole thing was a colossal waste of time.

It seems reasonable to me that Trump slept with a stripper/ pornstar. I didn’t need a trial to confirm that salacious tidbit. And that Trump authorized a payment to her. However, that is not illegal to do. He lied about it, so what? Trump lies a lot.

Retraction/Edit:

Did he use campaign money? No. This was an ill advised statement on my part. The money used to repay Cohen's consultant and Taxi stuff was paid from Trumps trust/personal account. However, I would consider that a one off, I suspect because he couldn't figure a way around it. The following still holds in my view: Anyone who follows Trump knows that he doesn’t like to pay people with his own money. It’s one of his strangest traits. He is like an influencer who thinks they shouldn’t have to pay at a restaurant. He is notorious for stiffing vendors. Who knows, maybe he could get better legal representation if this were not the case.

So the accounting was categorized as an illegal campaign contribution. Big whoop. Pay a fine and move on. This crap happens everyday in the business world.

Who really cares if the accounting was an illegal contribution? The squad and their minions? Robert De Niro and his friends on the View? So they can say " We finally got him". How droll.

People don’t necessarily vote for Trump because of his actions. It’s more about the cultural idea he has come to represent. The voters that sent him the money don’t give two spits how she got paid. So why should anyone else. It’s not going to change their vote or stop them from sending more money. Trump has been separating investors from their cash from way back. And that’s exactly what this money is, an investment. You send trump money via any number of his schemes with the idea that there will be a return on your investment. A political return. I am willing to send him my vote in exchange for fixing our border crisis. But like most investments, there is no guarantee I will receive a return even if he is elected.

I’m not saying Trump is above the law, there are other possible trials where I might not give him a pass on the outcome. But this is much ado about nothing.

What should happen now?

This BS just pushes each side farther way from the middle. For once, the Dims should do what’s best for the country. Can Biden break free from the progressive hold on the left? If he had any balls he would have the Gov of NY hold a press conference and immediately pardon Trump. Regardless of the ramifications on his internal polling.
