A nearly guaranteed process to get answers to your questions:
Step 1: Join the Army--preferably as an Infantryman, Combat Engineer, or Artillery forward observer to get experience in heavy load carriage and operating in austere environments.
Step 2: Learn everything you can about your job and how it contributes to combined arms operations.
Step 3: Do everything you can to excel in job.
(Pick one or more of the following; may not be sequential)
Step 4A: Successfully complete RASP1 and be assigned to the 75th Ranger Rgt
Step 4B: Successfully complete Ranger School
Step 4C: Apply for and successfully complete ARSOF training
Step 4D: Speak to an Army Special Mission Unit Recruiter
