I first heard it about a week ago. I guess it was the day of release, as I remember, there were some 900K views. They are saying it had 2M views on the second day.

I see him as a conservative Woody Guthrie if that's a thing. The singer/songwriter is just starting, his voice is a bit ruff.

I lose some of his singing because of tinnitus, but I like it.

Oliver Anthony said of "Rich Men North of Richmond" released on the 8th of August, 2023, "The universal thing I see is no matter how much effort they put into whatever it is they're doing, they can't quite get ahead because the dollar's not worth enough, they are being over-taxed. According to Oliver Anthony, the performance video of "Rich Men North of Richmond" was "first song to get out there that has been recorded on a real microphone and a real camera," and not just on his cell phone. The video has surpassed 2 million views just two days after its release on YouTube.
