If politicians listen carefully?

Politicians don't listen to peasants. Especially when those unwashed and uneducated gorillas refuse to listen to reason. For more than a generation, the working class has REPEATEDLY empowered their oppressors.
"We the people" as a society have provided the fuel for the conformation bias exhibited by the politicians that characterize those with opposing views as a fringe minority. All of North America is inhabited by a species that worships the predators purely because the predators speak with forked tongues.

"Restore The Soul of The Nation"

"We the people" have created a class of people that are convinced that they are our moral superiors.
...because we have confirmed to them that yes - they are smarter than we are.

We elevate them for decades at a time - in spite of a decades-long record of failure. Why does anyone act surprised at Brandon's downright disrespectful arrogance when talking to any person that dares challenge his wisdom? Why does anyone seem surprised at the smug disregard Trudeau has for his country and their "unacceptable viewpoints" - the democratic people's republic of North America enables and encourages this behavior in our elected representative.
We chatter about the colossal failure that is Joseph Robinette Biden - and yet - he has spent over a half of a century compiling wealth and power culminating in a shitshow of an election that placed him in his royal palace - and labeled any peasant that challenges the legitimacy of his ascension as a dangerous extremist.

This man is a fucking GENIUS politician and an absolute master manipulator of the average American psyche. He whispers at the nation as though we are a collective group of insolent children - and he still got 81 million tic marks of approval.

What's going on in Canada may as well be happening on Mars. If a convoy of American truckers pulled that shit here, they'd be tossed in jail with the rest of the dirty 6 January insurrectionists and the news outlets would run the story and social media would block any posts that questioned the approved media narrative - just like they do now.

Oddly enough, nobody protests the news outlets. Nobody ever protests in the parking lot of a social media headquarters. Nobody ever starts a fire in the billionaire activists' neighborhoods. All politics are local but nobody wants a disturbance in their neighborhood and so we continue to burn down the businesses that provide our goods and services while blaming the politicians and their corporate handlers. We fight among ourselves or denigrate our beloved system but we never punish the real villains.

...instead: 'we the people' loot the Food King or take pictures with feet on the desk in the Drinker of the Houses office and call it productive. Rinse and Repeat.
