They have been busy these pass 50 years, 1968/9 were certainly years in which the constitutional order and its continuity was questionable. The civil rights movement, Democratic convention in Chicago, American cities in flames, Viet Nam. All those confrontation melted into the 1972 election, where Nixon won in a landslide. Watergate unraveled that moment.

In so many ways, this is reflective of that time. imo, the left regrets not having achieved its goal of dismantling the constitutional order, and at this juncture are hell bent on not making that mistake again, which is the caution note for the next 10 months.

The left planted CRT and that is a social condition that argues subjective history. it will not be resolved in the schools, and schools are the lefts fertile fields. Those brown shirts today are the children natured on the nipple of oppression and discontented parents that were the brown shirts of the 1960's. The DA of San Fransisco is a prime example. Utter chaos in SFO, NYC is no different.

This POV seems unresolvable, but it's not. People, regardless of nation state, affiliation. political party, etc., all want security. That will be the driving force that may possibly save us from the unthinkable consequences of intractable differences.
