3) Establish clearly defined goals and milestones = (go make a ham sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and light mayo - go easy on the salt and pepper - use your knife to cut that sandwich on its diagonal axis before reporting to me so that I may receive my stabbing)

4) Explain project execution and set expectations = (The sandwich is for you - bring some milk too - you're going to need it.)

5) Look to the future = (...just to be on the safe side, make sure you have your proctologist on speed dial as well as the number of a good colorectal surgeon)


At no time did I attempt to appropriate her culture. I complimented her - twice. I made sure she knew to bring a lunch. I was careful to make sure that her health needs were considered.
