Well, it is my observation that NEITHER side of the political spectrum can lay claim to a sincere "do no harm" attitude.
...forget for a moment that I am a rabid, unapologetic, hypocritical, bitter, partisan conservative:

-Conservatives want to legislate when you can buy booze on Sunday. Conservatives want to legislate what kind of plants you can smoke. In short my dear conservative colleagues want to legislate morality.
-Liberals want to legislate your acceptance of their values. Liberal want to legislate how you celebrate your religion. Liberals want to legislate how your children are educated. Liberals even want to legislate how you manage your finances and property.


Caring for others suggests a charitable approach to society at large. Liberals would stop churches from running soup kitchens because they didn't pay for the appropriate food service permits. Liberals run the most dangerous and harmful cities in America by passing laws that do NOTHING to impact criminals choosing instead to pass laws that restrict law abiding citizens. conservative pass laws that allow EVERYONE to keep more of their own money.

Liberals absolutely disrespect the essence of Fairness/Justice/Equality. Liberals have fought a brutal (admittedly bloodless) cultural war to force "gender-norming" on the American public. Liberals have fought to "award" people based on identify groups and not ability. Liberals fight to advance special treatment over equal treatment.
...liberals are why MEN now hold world records in WOMENS sporting events.

Liberals DEMAND In-Group Loyalty - its why Ellen Degenerous was lambasted in the media for sitting next to a former president at a sporting event. It is why Vince Vaughn was lambasted for shaking hands with a president. It is why Kanye West is now persona-non-grata in liberal circles. In-Group Loyalty is the top priority of the left.

Liberals DEMAND respect of their authority. (however, they will refuse to respect anyone elses authority)
Its why Nancy Pelosi thinks "she" is equal to the president. Its why house democrats think they can dictate how the senate performs their duties. Its why Virginia is a political shit show.
Its also why the "counterculture" of the 1960's has spent the last 50 years trying to overthrow the nations power structure. Its why "hands up don't shoot" became such a national outcry for race baiting linerals (even though is was founded on a known lie). Its also why a football player kneeling in prayer is unacceptable, but kneeling in protest of authority is worshiped.
Liberals DEMAND respect of their authority but they do NOT respect any one else's authority.

Jonathan Haidt's research is WAAAAY off the mark in his rose-colored assessment of liberal morals. It is impossible to base your theory on a set of morals when you practice overt moral relativity. The fact that an academic would advance a proposal that liberals profess the morals of compassion and fairness tells me that he probably votes democrat and more specifically that he likely provides active support to the clinton syndicate.
