Although I do not necessarily disagree with your assessment I believe that the Liberal agenda really works right now due to apathy. The American public has chosen the Idiocracy as the preferred form of government. Willful ignorance of issues (as long as the Wi-Fi keeps working) is the norm. We can claim that the MSM is sensoring information or distorting facts…but for goodness sake we have the freaking INTERNET…thousands of information sources at your fingertips like no other period in history and people choose ignorance.
As to the presence and impact of God… yes, because liberalism (communism) relies upon total dedication to the "State" you can't have God and religion causing alternative thought to occur. What the liberals fail to understand is that the alternative thought is also a trait of academia…. So guess what group is the second to go to the camps? Ain't history a bitch?
It's also interesting from a historical perspective to read the writings of the Viscount de Tocquevill on America. de Tocquevill was confused as to how the young Republic manged to stay together as his native land of France continued to be thrown into turmoil and fighting… Constantly changing form of government and persecution of various groups. Chaos and death were the norm.
His conclusion? American faith and belief in a higher power (God) served to stay the chaos and bring together a disparate people. As the (so-called) progressives…dimocrats and socialists seek a goodless existence the fabric that holds the country together frays and is broken. This fact coupled with the understood process for the demise of a great society are catching up to us. The expiration date on the label is pretty real.
The rhetorical question is whether 2020 matters. I'd offer that it does only as an indication of how degenerate and apathetic we as a people have become…. Otherwise, it's just another news cycle.
