This isnt a case of toxic masculinity in the c;classic sense - to the contrary - SFC Barboza is an American-Mexican female.
I imagine that SFC Barboza would have experienced a different outcome as a male NCO - probably an even greater difference in outcomes as a non-hyphenated male NCO - but I could be wrong.

Not that it should matter since all soldiers are same-same - I'm just guessing her gender and hyphen status probably helped out in this case.
