Those are some good Sagas, reading them would illustrate the same stories have been borrowed over and over again through out time...perhaps they borrowed some of their elements? Snuri Struluson' "The Prose Edda" is a good companion book as it translates the context behind some of the phrases and events. Loki is synonymous with trickery, deception, and devilry... Qualities not admired by the Norse. I have never seen him illustrated with a real beard.
