Our son HATED Disneyland. He was 4.0 through Middle School and High School and almost every year the school sponsored a trip to DL for them. He never went. We took him once when he was 5 or 6. The A-tickets are left over from my early years in LA with visiting friends and family.

Disney started Magic Bands a couple years ago. It's a fit-bit ticket tracking system. You can go to a kiosk and check which ride is low on traffic and "reserve" a spot in line.

Additionally, I am sure Disney is plotting everyone's movement in the park for flow to/from attractions, for better human traffic engineering.
