Have a physically fit 65 year old buddy that just had his hip joint resurfaced with titanium...he's happy, self lubricating (who knew) and the pain has diminished greatly and should abate as his muscles repair/adjust.
Same deal...as he was 'fit' they figured a replacement wasn't required or nec.
