Unfurling of the replica Star Spangled Banner is pretty amazing (Saturday night). Having been on the team handling the flag for launch, it is a beast at 30' x 42' and can be "weather dependent" should the winds be too high. |
Awesome, Ft. McHenry is about an hour from me. I think I may plan a visit on the 9th of September. What a wonderful sight to see our grand old flag flying like a beacon; what a emotional image. It always makes me teary eyed hearing the anthem and seeing our flag in all it's glory. Funny, I live so close and have only been there once,shame on me. Thanks for the info, I need to mark that on my calendar.
