I don' know the MDMP leading to MAVNI protocol, but I wish it was like the French Foreign Legion. Serve faithfully for 5 years THEN you got a shot at citizenship.
Handing it out right after basic/AIT or contract signing attracted the undesirable types who doomed the program.
Oh well, hindsight 20/20
*yes, there are plenty deserter in FFL, but no benefits given there...other than meal and lodging in jail!
