Wow. Frankly, I'm surprised the bidding is as high as it is for such a suspect item. I know if I was a knife collector, I'd want to buy one from the soldier themselves with some added provenience like a sign letter and redacted DD-214.
But people are silly and sometimes Ebay prices reflect that fact.
