Unfortunately, stolen valor will never mean as much -- or be as important to -- anyone that isn't a veteran. That's why it isn't investigated as rigorously as other crimes. That, as well as ignorance of its existence. It's cases like those that have to be followed through with by the complainant in order to make sure they are being investigated to the fullest.
