A few of my list of must see's:
- Commando Monument, Spean Bridge (pics 3-5)
- Scottish National War Memorial, Edinburgh Castle
- Great Hall, Stirling Castle = pic is my family standing under the clan shield located in the position of high honor to the right of the throne in the Great hall - my ancestors were staunch supporters of Robert the Bruce and the clan still holds the title of High Constable of the Realm of Scotland.
- Scottish Coronation site, Moot Hill, Scone Palace, Perth = small stone chapel is the site of the coronation of many of the earliest Scottish kings and the original site of the Stone of Scone taken by Edward 1 'Longshanks' and now residing in the treasury with the coronation jewels in Edinburgh Castle - pic is my family (minus oldest son and his wife) with me seated on the replica of the Stone of Scone located at the coronation site.
- Black Watch Monument, Aberfeldy
- Culloden Battlefield and Museum
- Meigle sculpted pictish stone museum
- Rosslyn Chapel, Rosewell = fascinating blend of celtic and Christian religious symbolism made famous in the book/movie 'The DaVinci Code'.
- Edradour Distillery, Pitlochry = smallest distillery in Scotland.
- Glenfiddich Distillery = one of Scotland's largest distilleries and a great tour of the processes and their history.
Safe travels.
