That's a smart move on delaying this until after the general election and swearing-in of a new president. Assuming that we get a decent president (insert snarky comment here), we have a much better chance of a tough sentence sticking. I don't trust Obama one iota---he would pardon this guy in a heartbeat. If he's gone, much less chance of that happening.
This is not a hard case to prosecute. Hell, Bergdahl gave video confessions. The prosecutors are playing chess, not checkers. This might just end up happening the way it should.
