I was going through some of the bio's on the POW Bio site. There is a link on the bottom that has the medal of honor awardees. I notice some of the POW's and Some not POW's were awarded what appears to be the Army and navy world war II Occupation medal. This is not the POW medal. It is white black red white

2–9. Prisoner of War Medal
a. The Prisoner of War (POW) Medal is authorized by Public Law 99–145, 10 USC 1128, 8 November 1985, as
amended by, 10 USC 1128, 1989. It is authorized for any person who, while serving in any capacity with the U.S.
Armed Forces, was taken prisoner and held captive after 5 April 1917.
b. The POW Medal is to be issued only to those U.S. military personnel and other personnel granted creditable U.S.
military service, who were taken prisoner and held captive—

a. The Army of Occupation Medal was established by War Department General Orders 32, 1946. It is awarded for
service for 30 consecutive days at a normal post of duty (as contrasted to inspector, visitor, courier, escort, passenger,
