I would argue the exact opposite, that by supporting the freedom of expression, in whatever form it takes, we ensure our other cherished rights. And by doing so, Tom and Bill, or Jane and Emily, or Chris Beck, would know that whatever lifestyle they choose we defend via the US Constitution first 10 Amendments/Bill of Rights, and have, would in turn understand that without those to defend their right to live their life on their terms only the abyss waits, would support your right to live your life on your terms.
