Don't really want to post about active cases, but I did have one where the guy met the 21 year old (going on 13) hottie on FB. This young lady was having boatloads of fun by inviting over half the city to knock boots. When she testified at the first hearing I had to laugh at the expressions on the faces of all the coppers sitting around waiting for their cases to be called. We were ALL thinking I'da hit THAT! Now, at this point we all knew her true age was 13 but, well, I know it's not right . . . but I understand. My guy claimed he never went over there though the rest of the city did. My guy said she really pressed him to come and git it, so he thought she was a pro, and he don't PAY for it. The judge though he was being a dick for not taking the state's offer of a misdemeanor like the rest of the city did, so the judge, sua sponte, ups his bail a week before Christmas, just to git his mind raight, doncha know. I was able to get the bail back down so he was out for Christmas and we won at jury trial.
Six months later (if he had been convicted he would have still been in custody) he and a partner decide to rob an extra-legal pharmacist who was a backer of the 2nd amendment and blew his partner away. He is now sitting on felony murder. Even when I win, I lose.
Generally, the problem is people within driving distance become keyboard commandos and disrespect each other, leading to face-to-face confrontations involving brass knuckles, tasers, and real, big, M1911's.
I shouldn't bitch, it keeps me in the chips, but you will never see me on FB for any reason.
