This reply cracked me up:

I had what must have been the exception to the rule about EO NCOs in one of my units. I didn’t know the man, when I arrived at the unit, but I soon got to. I had the msfortune of walking into a situation where there were some troublemakers, and when I cracked down on them, the first thing they did was go see the new EO NCO, who had only been there for a few weeks longer than I had. I realized things were going to be different with this guy when he sent the little deputation of troublemakers back to me so they could make an official appointment with him through the chain of command. Which I did, promptly. When I arranged things, he asked me what my side of the story was, and I gave it to him. When I got done, he just had a grim expression on his face, and told me not to worry about anything, he’d “…straighten those lazy-ass (n-words) the fuck out…”. You can imagine my expression as I carefully got the hell out of Dodge.

Our EO NCO could have given that guy from The Green Mile, Michael Clark Duncan, a run for his money.

Sent the troublemakers over for their appointment, which they went to with great glee, telling their peers that they were about to “See some changes up in this bitch…”.

I’m walking by the EO office about fifteen minutes later, and I suddenly hear what sounds like a lion taking down a wildebeest, a noise that continues for about 45 minutes. You could kind of make out some sentence fragments, like “…embarrassment to black men everywhere…” “…pieces of shit walking around like they think they’re people…” “lazy-ass motherf*****s”, and a whole host of other racially-charged epithets. Give you an idea of how bad it was, someone called the CSM over, because they thought someone was verbally abusing the EO NCO. When he was finally done, my three troublemakers came out of that office looking like they’d been raped, in tears and actually crying sobs of I-don’t-know-what. I’ve never seen “cocky” reduced to “wanting Mommy” more quickly or thoroughly in my life. CSM is just standing there, open-mouthed, and our EO NCO just gave him a thumbs up and invited him into the office, where the CSM just kinda told him that he maybe ought to tone it done a notch or two, ‘cos it was disturbing the rest of the building. EO NCO just said, “Hey, I gotta set the tone for my time, here…”. Dude was a monster, and I think he scared a whole bunch of people straight, when it came to the usual racial BS.

Got to know him a bit better, as time went on, and he told me the main reason he got into the EO game was that he was tired of all the racial BS tearing up his units, and he figured the only person who could put a stop to that was someone like him. And, he did put a stop to people gaming the system, no matter who they were. And, when there were the occasional instances of genuine issues, which usually came from outside our unit, he dealt with those just as forthrightly. Good man.

There are some worthwhile things going on with EO, and some really good people working in that field. Sadly they're both in minority status, themselves.
