Sorry to hear you can't properly lubricate your popcorn. I use a one gallon sauce pan. Put peanut oil in the bottom, put in a few kernels, turn the heat up high. Wait for the first one to pop, cover the bottom with popcorn, reduce heat, pop until it stops. My favorite topping is cheese and bacon grease. BP was 125/78 and cholesterol was 112.
