I fully understand that if I were Netflix and paid for a pipeline and it got throttled I'd be upset...if I were a consumer I'd be upset. But, this is not the province of government particularly given the track record of this regime over the last 6 years.

And, it is time to recognize that giving this government more power - even with "good" or at least not nefarious intentions - is a path to a reduction in individual freedom. That is how this statist got in power...many, well intentioned citizens without nefarious intentions, supported this noose around their own neck. Hey, they want the noose they can self assess more tax or build faster/higher capacity internet backbones...but don't give government the control to put a noose on me and the little guy. The Internet has generally worked pretty well so far.
