Don't even get me started on the USPS.
We're a shipping company and ship through all the major carriers. We've been doing this for over 17 years now.
The USPS is BY FAR the worst when it comes to tracking ANYTHING!
Little known fact: Both UPS and FedEx have contracts with the USPS for certain types of packages. They carry the packages the majority of the way and the USPS delivers it to what they call "the last mile". Problem is that UPS and FedEx get it there rather quickly but it may sit in the local post office 2-3 days before they decide to deliver it. For FedEx it's called Smartpost and it's the hardest thing in the world to track, even if FedEx picks it up from us. When they pick it up they scan it into there system but there is no way to track it until the USPS scans it and many times they DON'T scan it when it gets into their hands.
If it's a SmartPost call your local post office to see if it's there.
EDIT! I've also seen something take 10 days to get from my town to another town 70 miles away because someone put it in the wrong bag and it went to California first. That's why you always see in the fine print that they "STRIVE" to get Priority Mail to it's destination within 2-3 days but it's not guaranteed. It's FRUSTRATING!
