In basic in '67, I was probably the youngest and smallest recruit, but we had a DS that was shorter than me and looked younger. But, he had a CIB with a Star and wore a 1st CAV combat patch from Vietnam (from his shoulder to his elbow ). I don't recall if he wore jump wings or not. I was told that he got his first CIB in the Dominican Republic.
