As is the norm, the cover up that's unfolding is will be as bad and news worthy as the actual crime itself. I may be wrong, but in defense of the prosecuter, I believe Rice's victim was not willing to cooperate and would have made prosecuting more difficult. Although with video evidence ,such as it was, they would not have needed her testimony for a conviction. People have been sent to jail for lesser crimes with less evidence. Rice's status as an NFL star and being a first time offender with deeps pockets to afford excellent legal counsel all contributed to the cases dispostion.

In terms of the MSM wanting blood; people can hear and read about assaults and violent encounters in the paper and online. Until they see it, violence really doesnt enter their reality. Seeing it on video or live changes the perception significantly. Jonh Q Public has no idea what real violence looks like and has difficulty processing it when he does see it. The reaction to viewing it is usually repulsion and the desire for justice for the victim and the criminal. I include MSM as JQ Public as well.
