Growing up in Upstate NY, Giants football was required viewing. We also had the pleasure of watching Fighting Irish games before the Giants game. One of the guys I liked watching was the fella YA replaced. Good ole #42, Charlie Conerly; who was the official Marlboro man for a few years. #16 was Paul Horning, # 81 Andy Robusteli , # 70 Sam Huff, # 85 Del Schofner, # 44 (IIRC) Kyle Rote, & # 29 Alex Webster, and even a few games played with # 45 Emlem Tunnell. I remember when face masks came into vogue. I don't remember very much fool's play in the end zones after TD's, just good football.
