FWIW I agree with you. A parent's primary concern should be for the present and future welfare of their children. Giving them the tools they need to survive in a soon-to-be hostile environment is paramount IMO. I honestly do not believe a civil war would break out. Not a toe-the-line kind of war anyway. It'll be rag-tag bandit groups taking from the weak, just as portrayed in so many low budget apocalypse films. The military will be useless because (at least I hope) they will be home defending their families from the porch as opposed to overseas in a 3rd world shithole. I do not forsee order being restored for some time if this happens.

Regardless of what I think will happen, something needs to be done to reform this country back to its original mold. This American on American divisiveness promulgated by the political and social climates we live in today is hurling us into an ancient Rome-like state. We all know what happened to them. Voting our way out of this is no longer a solution me thinks. I love movies, and one of my favorite lines is "Bullets change governments far surer than votes". I don't want to see it come to that, but the writing has been on the wall for some time now...in red.
