1st,, I'v have been "service connected" combat wound for 43 yrs,, during the 70t's & 80t's I visited the vets at the Miami VA monthly,, no new news about the VA,, BTDT..

I have no doubt there is a major problems with the VA,, But like all government burracries, there are good people helping,, plus some asshats..

AND the returning troops perception of the VA,, spot on ..

BUT,,, Could it be that 45% of the returning troops don't need the VA??

I tried to look for some numbers of total troop in country, but most of the web site quote wound details without percentages, eg: IED, PTSD, and deaths.

My perception has been that the wound ration for all the GWOT activity, has been the lowest ever??

This article implies that 100% of the vets are in need of the VA??
