Sir, we asked ourselves the same thing this morning up here in the East. I think it is going to make for an interesting transition for us this spring with our replacements coming in. We are used to last minute changes before committing ODAs to certain spots, was worse this year. Someone left the good idea fairy hatchery door open sometime over the summer.

As I see it from my seat, there are quite a few moves that have been made to accelerate things already, even before the meeting of the US and Afghan Presidents. Not sure what you see in your AO, but it's almost as if the BSO's are racing to see who can retrograde faster. It screws our missions up a little, but we get creative and the guys on the ground still continue to do good things.

Nobody wants to be the first to move without official word, but there is some posturing happening. People are just waiting for the ball to drop.

Don't worry though, SF brought the ass whipping into theater, it'll be the same on the way out, regardless of time tables attributed to the state of SF/SOF contingencies and post 2014 intent.

I can get into more detail on official channels, interesting to say the least.
