To all SF Candidates, I would highly suggest signing up for and participating in a GORUCK Challenge.
It's all about working together with a bunch of strangers (if you don't bring friends) and helping each other make it to the end. I won't go into detail about what we did because I feel as if the unknown is part of the experience. I will just say that my team's Challenge lasted 9.5 hours, and we covered a distance of about 18 miles. My team had 11 members including me, and we all made it to the end together. Like they say on their website: "Signing up is an individual process. Completing the Challenge is a team event."
It was one hell of an experience, but hearing "welcome to the brotherhood" at the end and getting that patch made it all worth it. The fact that 100% of my team completed the Challenge made it even more rewarding. It also helped that we had a really great "tour guide" who would always remind us to "suffer in silence!"
If you do sign up for a Challenge, just remember that you and the people you work with paid to get your asses kicked.

Don't Quit!
Thank you MoFo for letting us know about GORUCK and sharing your experience.
