So you are advocating beating around the bush, rather than straight to the point because some might be offended......I am an Independent and I rather them say what they are thinking instead of having a circle jerk of words, and a host of Talking Heads dissecting what it all means for weeks on end..
Also remember numerous studies have shown Americans to have short attention spans, so getting to the point simply, quickly and directly would seem to be an advantage for those who are not fearful of stepping across the PC line.
