Thaddeus (Big Teddy) Sanfilippo

Thaddeus Sanfilippo, a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, the 77th SFG, and the 12th SFG (USAR), and loving husband to Maggie, his wife of over 50 years, passed away unexpectedly last night as a result of suspected complications from recent open heart surgery.

CARRIERE — Visitation for Thaddeus “Ted” Frank Sanfilippo, 75, of Carriere, Miss., who passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 will be held Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

A native of Chicago, Ill., he was a retired VP of Sales and a member of the United States Special Forces Association. Ted was proud of his service to his country and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Joseph and Mary Zakovic Sanfilippo.

Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Magdalene “Maggie” Marie Sanfilippo; three sons, Michael Joseph Sanfilippo, Anthony and wife Kate Sanfilippo, and Robert Scott Sanfilippo; one daughter, Christine and husband Jim O’Berry; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
