MOO, Vice President Biden's ill considered comment regarding blacks and chains was not just another example of his typical foot and mouth shoot from the hip approach to political rhetoric. It was also a transparent effort to co-opt the criticisms that Tavis Smiley and Cornel West have leveled against the current administration. Instead of getting caught up in the "no we're not / they are" finger pointing, maybe the president's opposition could find ways to use the Smiley/West critique as an opportunity for out reach.
