That is too funny! Life can be interesting, especially when dealing with such critters is your job. I have handled deer, pronghorn, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, and black bear. The worst butt kicking I ever received was from a mule deer fawn during a research project trapping operation. We were taking numerous measurements on deer fawns during the winter. Once we got the needed measurements we would let them go. My boss at the time, the local biologist, and I were working one particular fawn. Upon releasing it, it spun around, reared up on its hind legs and started "punching" my boss in his thighs with its front hooves. After doing that for a few seconds, it whirled, planted all four hooves into my chest and pushed off as it made its get away. I flew backwards in to the snow. We were a little beat up and a bit embarrassed. Does could be handled, but you have to do it properly. We avoided dropping the net on bucks like the plague.
Canada Geese and Great Blue Herons can be challenging as well.
If anyone is interested, I have video that my son took with a cell phone while I caught a lynx with a catch pole. It wound up in a landowners front yard. We presumed it was sick or injured. It turned out to be only a little dehydrated. I just don't know how to post it.
