Roger's Rangers Rules for FOGs........

ROGER'S RANGERS RULES for FOGs

This is my interpretation of how Roger's Rangers Rules of years ago have meaning to us present day FOGs./Paul Kulik

Rogers's Ranger Rules

1. "Don't forget nothing".
For FOGs: Unobtainable goal at our age....but keep trying.

2. Maintain your weapon & have lots of ammo.
For FOGs: The hard part here is remembering where you hid your weapon and ammo.

3. See the enemy first.
For FOGs: Get frequent eye exams and new glasses. Don't forget to wear them.

4. Never lie.
For FOGs: Especially to your wife....she'll spot it like a two ton elephant in the room.

5. Don't take a chance you don't have to.
For FOGs: When you've used up twelve of your nine lives your pushing your luck.

6. Stay far enough apart so one shot can't go through two men.
For FOGs: Who cares about the stranger behind you?

7. Keep spread apart in swamps.
For FOGs: Easy one here.....don't go into swamps.

8. Keep moving until dark.
For FOGs: I have a hard time getting up in the morning never mind moving until dark.

9. Stay half awake and half asleep.
For FOGs: An astute description of me and my friends.

10. Separate prisoners.
For FOGs: Easy, don't take prisoners and this problem vanishes.

11. Never return home the same way.
For FOGs: Some nights I consider myself lucky just to find home.

12. Travel with scouts.
For FOGs: If you don't have a dog get one.

13. Establish a rondeview point.
For FOGs: Bars are ideal. Excellent watering holes and easily found by your friends.

14. Post sentries when stoping.
For FOGs: Travel with a big/mean dog.

15. Be alert for attacks at dawn.
For FOGs: If they arrive before my first two cups of "Joe" I'm toast.

16. Ambush those that aim to ambush us.
For FOGs: My favorite! Better stopped in the wire than in the compound. Know your local home defense laws.
