What if..... all these public outings are just a ruse, so that Israel has the green light from us to light up the Iranians, and we are able to claim that we had no input into the attack, because don't you know Israel and the US haven't been getting along lately?
Other countries play this game very well, why not us?

I've contemplated this same scenario too. But looking at the history of US duplicity in foreign affairs and the history of verbal diarrhea from those who make up this administration, I conclude that this scenario is most implausible.
