On Sunday, President Obama signed an executive order authorizing sanctions and visa bans against those who facilitate human rights abuses in Syria and Iran using information technology. The White House said the sanctions would target companies that enable authoritarian governments with technology used for oppression as well as what it called “digital guns for hire” who design systems to monitor and target citizens for killing, torture or other abuses.

That sounds kind of like our very own NSA data center in Utah...and the NDAA....domestic drone use....appliances and street lights that spy.
