Many not in SF have seen the SFAS films on Discovery, etc.
Team events suck. A woman doesn't pull her weight and is aided by the team so they all can finish. She is a non-select. Lawsuit follows, she did everything the guys did, she's handed her select papers.

When the standards are lowered to allow for a few women to pass it will allow some males who should not pass to pass also.

It's rampant on the conventional side. Senior officers don't want to seem heavy handed by enforcing the standards on female soldiers. And out of fairness they don't hold the men to the standard either. As a result the quality of the entire unit drops.
Down the line this seems to lead to what some call the Tonya Harding effect. In other words personnel who have been told their the shit their entire careers wake up one day and they run into someone who has much higher standards. This is very convicting for them. Instead of following that individuals example they do everything they can to belittle and put down those Soldiers.
