Just went back and the owner clariffied it is a 1910 SWEDISH mauser 96. Any input on whether I should acquire it?
Just depends on what you intend on using it for. Swedish Mausers in general are fun shooters. The 6.5X55 ball has a weight range from 77 to 160gr. This should cover your wants from target to deer.

There are still quite a few ammo suppliers for his round ranging from Norma to Winchester to surplus. If you do decide to reload, remember what has been stated earlier. The Models 91 thru 97 aren't near as strong as the Model 98 Mausers. If your re-loading keep your tolerances at 45,000 psi and lower.

Lastly collecting Mausers is a very addictive hobby! (partial collection)
