That doesn't sound that bad for back then. My '67 Mustang didn't do that well. Then again, it could be the lead accelerator it came equipped with.

I also remember "dragging Main" and having the guys pony up money for gas. I'd tell the attendant, "Two dollars worth of ethyl, please."

BTW, for the youngsters, for that 19 cents ($1.61, adjusted), the gas was pumped for us, the oil level and tire pressures checked, and, at least at Phillips 66, the interior of the car vacuumed. Oh, and windows washed.
