Yep that has been confirmed. Also the goals proclaimed by the group are, well not really alongt with those of islamic terrorist groups.
Anti Bank, anti globalization, anti free market without gouvernment control. The thing is though. Despite them being immensly stupid lunatics their "goals" or critic points are actually representing a majority of German citizens.
Recent polls aiming for various questions about recent economic development and gouvernmental decisions clearly show a move to the left. And the fun thing? People are not even aware of this. Because the ruling parties, the christian democratic party and the liberals (donīt get confused here the libs are extremely conservative from your point of view) are not acting according to their reputation but opportunistic. For years itīs been hard to actually make a point and stand ground for one party, īcause differences between them vanished and it all became on big mudhole.
That again lead into another problem. Without a real opposition with clear goals and recognizable statutes the old fashioned way of changing something in a democracy - by vote or demonstration that influences one became redundant.
Peaking in the recent election of the state parliament and state prime minister of Baden Württemberg in the ongoing aftermath of a public controversy about a train station in the city of Stuttgart (yeah no shit - that caused the biggest nationwide outcry with millions on the street - a freakin train station).
In that election the green party, propably the only distinguished party in some topics, won their first state election ever and even got to name the new prime minister. All the voters hoped for a change in the train station subject (into not building it for enviromental and economic reasons) but even the green party had to admit (of course after the election) that there are basically contracts and there is no real choice for them other than building that damn station.
I think thatīs when people lost their hope in politics and change. And eventually that lead into those terrorist attacks on tracks (ahh the connection) and trains.
Will this affect german politics? Not yet but with ongoing incidents definately. Why? Because itīs Germany. And we abandoned "guts in politics" long before we became Europeīs leading nation. (which we basically are, at least since the economic downfall of 2009).
I just hope our gouvernment is smart enough to not(!) send massive police force against those protestors and lunatics but tries to convince people that this is just the wrong way. No clue how they can do this anyway...
