I'd seen these pugs late spring a year ago on some ridgetop hunting property in So Monroe County (west of the 15 May "observation" in Juneau Co). Many wardens were still dismissive. If one connects the dots & dates on that map from the May Juneau Co (and my Monroe Co) observation to the 20 May sighting to the NE, coupled with apparently willingness to hang around up in the north for sometime, seems to me either that cat hopped a freight on its way to CT, or there's normally more than 1 cat at any given time. Lotta food, water & shelter hereabouts; perfect 'wayside' for a cat that is eastbound at its own pace. Why bother with elk calves or deer when there is domesticated food?

Maybe they saw one of the old 1980 bumper stickers (souvenirs from the Cuban opn) saying 'Escape to Wisconsin'.
