The article is not accurate. In San Francisco, only felonies will be reported. Misdemeanors and infractions will not be reported. Misd. are citeable and releasable upon with good I.D. except for D.V and DUI's. Infractions are citeable and releasable with good I.D. Most times, Misd and infractions are traffic related so it's not realistic for an officer to wait for results to come back. Most of the time, there's more important priority calls that needs a police response due to criminal actions.
