Now there's a good dog!!

Sgt. 1st. Class Ignacio Estrada, a Special Forces canine handler, described how important the Green Berets' dogs are to finding hidden improvised explosive devices in Iraq and Afghanistan. Whenever a dog finds an explosive, it's rewarded with a toy or a small treat.

To underscore his point, Estrada described a recent deployment to Afghanistan where his dog discovered a deadly IED in a roadway. As the dog continued to search the area, he found a second explosive that was meant to hit incoming rescuers. Farther up the road, the dog sniffed out a third booby trap.

"That night, I gave him a steak," Estrada said.
