IMO America is on the brink of actually becoming the culture of assimilation it has portrayed itself to be for so many years and wasn't, and, although it has always been influenced by external foreign stimuli, it has never shown itself to be subservient to such a stimulus except through fear.

Personally, I cannot see America allowing itself to become any more or less subservient to such influences in the foreseeable future than it has in the past.

However, YMMV...and so it goes...
