Gentlemen,

I'm not sure this is the right section to post this in but I'm sure someone will set me straight. Anyway, I'm currently in the market for a good .45 pistol for home/self defense. What is your opinion or recommendation? Any and all advice is welcome. I'm looking at the Sig P220 and the HK USP. I'd love to get the 1911 model that was designed/modified by Larry Vickers, but from what I understand it's very expensive. Also, I'm a little turned off by glocks since they lack a conventional safety.
