Along this line, I love my S&W 327 TRR8. Eight rounds .357 Magnum chamfered for full moon clips. It also comes with top and bottom rails. That would give you a large, light shooting .38 Special for IDPA with optic capability out of the box as well as a weaponlight capable .357 Magnum with a large capacity. Fast reloads for both arenas.
