This is a new one out of my neck of the woods. I didn't find any previous mentions of it on the site, but let me know if I missed it.
Recently, two armed perps tried to rob a Dutch Brothers coffee kiosk (those little drive-up huts) and try to rob a barista. The barista just happens to be armed and ends up killing one perp, the other ran for his life.
The LEs investigated it and aren't charging him. It's now come out that
he was packing against company policy, but Dutch Brothers isn't going to fire him. In fact, he's on paid leave until he's ready to come back to work.
I may have to learn to tolerate their coffee and become a regular customer.
